- The article presents a case study of a 20-year-old man with iron deficiency anemia (IDA). It says that upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopic examinations were normal and serological analysis for celiac disease were negative, but capsule endoscopy shows the presence of Taenia genus tapeworm in the small intestines. It adds that the man was given iron replacement therapy and niclosamide which resulted in the normalization of his hemoglobin levels.
