- This chapter is about LED based microcontroller projects. All the projects given in this chapter have been tested and are working. In total 9 projects are given in the chapter. The projects are organised in the order of increasing complexity. Early projects describe the design of simple flashing LEDs. The design of an LED dice project is given which imitates a real dice. The chapter describes how to connect large number of LEDs to a microcontroller and a working example project is given. Finally, projects are given to change the brightness of an LED by sending a Pulse-Width-Modulated (PWM) signal to the LED. It is shown in the chapter how to modify the duty cycle of the PWM waveform so that the average power delivered to the LED, and hence the brightness of the LED can be changed.
