- Elsie İnglis,a doctor who travelled to France at the beginning of the First World War,despite opposition from the government of the day,and set up a hospital to tend to the wounded.To the women who worked in the Barnbow and Low Moor Munition Factories,especially those killed in the line of duty.And to all women who took up the challenge set them during the 1914-1918 war,either on the front line or on the home front.All of these women left a legacy of inspiration in the courage they showed and the sacrifices they made.They did not falter.We will remember them.
