In this study, education and information levels of farmers related with pesticide usage were investigated. The aim of this study is deliver recommendations for the analysis and improvement of current situation in order to ensure more effective and efficient as well as perception and implementation of messages via the training of farmers at the highest level to prevent the environmental pollution caused by pesticides, eliminate the food safety risks and protect the ecological balance. There has not been any study conducted on farmers training regarding the improvement of environmental awareness of farmers aiming to prevent environmental pollution caused by pesticides (plant protection products) and protect ecological balance in the northern part of Cyprus. 335 farmers from 5 provinces in Northern Cyprus were surveyed by using mixed reseach method. Also, it was aimed to develop suggestions for to improve farmer training and extension services.
