It contains articles published in counseling journals in the late 1980s and early 1990s that pertain to these issues. Chapter 1 presents a history of school counseling. Chapter 2 discusses counselor education programs. Chapter 3 concerns the development of comprehensive secondary school counseling programs. Chapter 4 considers the role of the secondary school counselor. Chapter 5 reviews the scope of the counselor's role. Chapter 6 reviews career counseling. Chapter 7 discusses educational counseling. Chapter 8 considers the future of secondary school counseling. (Contains over 560 references.) (JDM)
